The Calgary Flames Sports Bank provides FREE gently used sports equipment to children from qualified families throughout Southern Alberta.

Why put your kids in sports?

Youth sports do more than build muscles—they build minds, confidence, social skills, and future leaders. Sports set kids up to do well in school today and in their careers tomorrow.

Kids who play sports are more likely to have leadership roles and more independence at work when they grow up. 

94% of women in higher leadership positions are former athletes. Sports not only help young girls grow up to be more confident, but they also help them perform better in school. 

High school athletes can earn more in adulthood compared to peers involved in other extracurriculars. 

Sports participation is linked to better academic outcomes. Kids who play sports often get higher grades  than non-athletes and are are more likely to graduate
